29th November 2017
After a very successful and enjoyable tour with Planet Funk which took me back and forth to Italy throughout 2017 I am now looking forward to the release of their new album, songs from which we performed throughout the summer.
In the meantime my attentions are focused on my work in Music Education with Sheffield’s own Music Hub. It is very rewarding and inspiring to work with budding young artists.
20th November, 2016

A gig in Sheffield, a rare thing indeed. I’ll be singing at Harland Cafe on October the 16th with Paul Kilvington on piano and Frank Grime on double bass if you are around. Look on the live page for more details.
I am also proud to be one of the The Hick St Chip Shop Singers on Richard Hawley’s lovely new album Hollow Meadows (along with Rebecca Lucy Taylor, Nancy Kerr, Bryan Day, Colin Elliot and Shez Sheridan).

An Introduction To Jazz Singing – Song Interpretation
I’m going to run a very small group workshop. Here are the details…
This small group workshop will begin with vocal warm ups and exercises. We will then look at a few songs from the Great American Songbook, the classic repertoire by the likes of Cole Porter and Gershwin. Many of these beautiful songs originate from old musicals and have been visited and interpreted by Jazz singers and musicians over the decades.
We will look at ways of expression through song and techniques of interpretation.
Saturday June 13th 1:30 – 4:30pm

New Song Co-written With Blissful Virtuous
‘Blissful Virtuous’ is the collective name for the writing, production and remix partnership that is Roo Pigott and Mark Bradshaw. Mark and Roo bridge a wide musical landscape, often working from opposite ends of the world as they travel and source new sounds and influences.
“We’ve been lucky enough to work with and listen to so many other artists, the eclectic influences show through in our work; from deep dark troubled earth moving sounds to the brightest organised speaker blowing chaos. It’s a stunning project… A massive journey of sounds, sessions and searching. Recordings and remixes have happened worldwide from Borneo to the UK, Tanzania to the US and Singapore to South Africa.”
Jamie Catto, One Giant Leap / Faithless (London): “I love what you do… I hope you’ll come and play a live show with us.”
BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction (London): “…Mbira Post, their first album, has the qualities that only the best records have, superb.”
Nicky Blumenfeld, Kaya FM (Johannesburg): “Such originality, it’s beautiful music.”
I hope you enjoy listening to it. I’ve also added a few gigs to my live page.
