Hello everybody,

Sorry I haven’t been in touch for a while. Just in case you’re wondering why there are hardly any gigs coming up I thought I should explain… There will be more but they have to be thin on the ground for a while. I’ve had some lovely gigs this year and have gradually turned into an egg on legs. My last gig before my little break was at Zeffirellis in Ambleside in my 9th month of pregnancy. I thought maybe I should have a rest now as I'll have a lot on my plate in the coming months. Baby is due on November the 6th!

I have a few projects in the pipeline which will eventually see the light of day but until then I thought you might want to hear a few rough mixes of work in progress. One is a song from the collaborative project I’m working on with Scanner. We performed together at the Electron Festival in Geneva this year and plan to continue our collaborations.

The other is from a collection of recordings I’ve done in my 8th and 9th months of pregnancy with piano player Paul Kilvington. We’ve recorded some latin and jazz tunes and a few of my originals. Here is an interpretation of my song ‘Milk and Honey’ which is featured in its original form on ‘Electric Butterfly’, an album of originals released this year.

7 April 2009: Sally performing live on Swiss radio

Sally will be performing live on Swiss National Radio this Wednesday evening, 8 April, 19.00–20.00 Swiss time, if you want to listen (take into account the time difference between your country and Switzerland). www.rsr.ch/la-1ere/radio-paradiso

This will showcase new works from a collection written by Sally and Scanner specifically for L’Electron Festival in Geneva (see the live page). It will also be promotion for the forthcoming release of Sally’s album ‘Electric Butterfly’ (previously only available as a digital download or as a signed promo) which will now be released by Shayo in May.

22 January 2009: Live appearances in the UK with Donald Grant and the Red Skies Ensemble and in Switzerland with Scanner

Sally will be performing as a guest with Donald Grant: www.donaldgrantmusic.com to launch his beautiful new album ‘The Way Home’. Sally recorded ‘Noche de Ronda’, a Mexican waltz, with him and Red Skies Ensemble as part of the album. The gigs are at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield and at Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.

She’ll also be collaborating with Scanner: www.scannerdot.com, performing new music at the Electron festival, L’Alhambra, Geneva.
