Her approach to teaching is relaxed and friendly and lessons are tailor-made to suit each individual.

She also teaches singing in Secondary Schools helping pupils to prepare for GCSE and A-Level performance as well as for stage performance and Vocal Grades. For many years she was the vocal tutor at Sheffield College teaching singing on their Popular Music BTEC and HND courses. She has taught Musical Composition at Sheffield University for Adults Continuing Education. At Huddersfield University she has run vocal Master Classes and has been the External Examiner for their Popular Music Singing students.”

Testimonials

“Fascinating, practical, informative and inspirational an absolutely brilliant session. There are levels of mindfulness and self-awareness about singing that I have never experienced before in a 45 year career. Everything is explained in an easy, encouraging and confidence-building way. You are such a great teacher.” TW

“My lessons with Sally are always fantastic! I enthusiastically look forward to each weekly lesson and feel that I’ve made great progress. My range has extended and I’ve grown greater confidence in singing publicly. The advice, guidance, feedback and encouragement that she constantly provides has contributed hugely to my advancement, which has not been impacted as a result of many lessons taking place on Zoom. If you’re looking for a singing teacher then I would absolutely recommend Sally. There is no doubt that I’ll be continuing my lessons for some time to come.” Mark

“Sally is an excellent singing teacher and over the past year and a half has helped me build confidence in my voice. Adapting to virtual teaching was effortless and my singing has gone from strength to strength.” Harry

“I started taking lessons with Sally during lockdown. I don’t live in Sheffield so face-to-face wouldn’t have been possible anyway. I wasn’t sure how I would feel having remote lessons but it has been fantastic. I am now working towards a singing grade all thanks to these lessons” Matt

“I have been taking lessons with Sally for a few months and honestly cannot believe not only how much I have improved but also how much more confident I am with my singing. I look forward to my lesson with Sally every week. She is a very skilled teacher as with each lesson comes a new exercise to help with my breathing or vocal abilities. But she is also very kind, patient and understanding. My lessons with Sally have given me a deeper understanding of what singing actually is and through that I feel much more connected with my body.” Irene

“Sally is a wonderful singing teacher. She’s so knowledgeable about effective singing technique. I have learnt a lot from her, including so many new songs! I would whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone.” Georgia

” I was a complete beginner to singing and had no real goals in mind other than wanting to enjoy singing, be more in tune and have a bit more confidence with my voice. Sally has been very supportive of this and from the beginning has tailored practices and songs to suit me and keep it fun and the right amount of challenging. I always look forward to the lessons and whilst I am very critical of myself Sally keeps reminding me how far I’ve come and is very supportive. I’ve recently had a baby and I’m enjoying singing to sooth him with songs I was learning while he was in the bump, and that is all thanks to Sally!” Emma

“Sally is a fantastic teacher, very accommodating and easy to get along with. I’m so much more confident in my abilities since starting lessons with her. I’d really recommend her as a teacher!” Louise
